Meeting new friends

Met two lovely ladies today who are on holiday from Australia.  That's a long way to come to see me....and they hadn't even heard of me until today!   We told them about my blog so I hope you stop by my blog ladies, and mum says she will look out for the book you mentioned.  Did you get windswept on the cliff railway?

Sleepy boy

Personally, I think Hamish was dreaming about me....

An invasion....

The Summer season is underway here, what with the Bank Holiday and good weather we have an invasion of Grockles   (note: Grockles is the Devon word for Holiday Makers/Tourists)  ...and with them comes the beach art that they seem to like to produce.

not sure exactly what these are,
but I found a use for one of them!

25 May 2015

What a whopper!

This took my mind off Hamish --- on my morning walk along the beach, me and dad came across this

MONSTER!

Dad reckoned it was about 3½ft. across (1 mtr)

I went near but didn't touch it...

Dad said it's a

BARREL JELLYFISH

can give a sting but not badly, although it's best not to touch...

phew --- glad I didn't get closer!!!!

A picture from Hamish...

.....my little pal has soon settled back into life back
at his house and his local walkies.

Here he is at an area known as The Castle, Woodbury Common - click link

which I think makes him....

KING OF THE CASTLE!

Jellyfish

Hamish had an encounter the other day

with a

very large

Jellyfish

but

he didn't wait around....

Can't say I blame him!

"Some people would say I'm Peeping!.....

......personally, I'm Observing"!

13 May 2015

Having met up with little Hamish the other day at the donkey day...

....we brought him back to our house for
a brief holiday...

I wouldn't mind, but there is one walk where he can outwit me...

11 May 2015

I met lots of friends yesterday....

...we went to Donkey Day....and had a great time

then I met a mule...he liked me I'm sure

mum went on a tractor trailer ride...

but I couldn't see her when they drove past....
(and look, little Hamish was there too)

St. Helens beach on the Isle of Wight....

The one thing about an island, you are guaranteed at least a few good beaches...

the Isle of Wight has loads of them..

I'm in disguise....

Got to keep up with dad

and this is where the photographer fell over...

NO, NOT REALLY!

6 May 2015

This beach was really different...

Isle of Wight....

Chalk cliffs in the distance and sandy cliffs where we walked...

It was good fun though, lots of new sniffs for me...

Yay!  a  tennis ball - somebody must have left it for me.

Sadly though it drowned - but I had a good game with it first.

We had plenty of beaches to visit -

another blog post another beach.

5 May 2015

We have been to the Isle of Wight again

....but first we had to get there

on a ferry.

So I sat with dad in the dog zone on the upper deck

(personally I think it's a 'look after dad zone')

"Dad, the paparazzi are after me again" !

"Don't they know I'm shy"

...but dad had a chat with me about it

"Thanks dad"

2 May 2015

I turned a corner...

...and guess what sat on the path in front  of me.

A

RABBIT

probably every Lurcher's dream....

but you see, the thing is when I was a little pup I got told off for
catching a rabbit and from then on if I chase them

I   SLOOOOW DOWN

They get exercise and so do I and everyone gets on with their day.

On this occasion, I was on the lead, so no slow motion chasing

and this little rabbit didn't seem to want to move,

perhaps he had heard I was visiting his neck of the woods!
